The iScholars program creates experiential learning opportunities for Virginia Tech undergraduates that prepare them for professional life after graduation by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to obtain an internship or job and excel in their internships and career regardless of their discipline. The program was created to help achieve President Tim Sands’ aspirations to expand student engagement in the National Capital Region by offering collaborative experiential learning opportunities to all Virginia Tech students. It is a holistic undergraduate program that helps prepare students for the workforce through focus on intrapreneurship, professional development, peer learning, and opportunities to work in interdiciplinary teams on real world projects for partner organizations  based in the Washington, DC area.
