About the iScholars Student Advisory Board

The iScholars Student Advisory Board exists to ensure that the programs and services offered by iScholars meet student needs and provide opportunities for student leadership development.  The Board is a platform from which students can apply their expertise and insure that the program is student-centered while meeting the strategic goals and mission of the program and the university at large. The Board is comprised of nine student leaders.

Selection Criteria

  • Passion for innovation, leadership, and professionalism with a vested interest in leaving behind a legacy for the university
  • Willingness to serve as a Board member for one year
  • Motivated an enthusiastic about new ideas and supporting and growing iScholars on campus and beyond
  • Dedication to meeting monthly to comprehensively address problems and solutions for the program

General Responsibilities

  • Advising the iScholars Coordinator
  • Be aware of the programs and opportunities offered through the university
  • Identify innovative ways that iScholars can better connect with, serve, and inform Virginia Tech students
  • Provide feedback about plans for upcoming events and after events have ended in a timely manner
  • Keep iScholars informed of the most pressing interests and concerns of Virginia Tech students
